Custom Apron for Bridal Shower

A few weeks ago, my co-worker Jessica asked me to make her sister an apron. It was a gift for her bridal shower. I love this apron because of the homemade bias tape in the fun polka dot pattern.  This is based on the Fruit Tart Pattern from Nathalie Mornu’s A is for Apron.

Speaking of bias tape, my husband bought me the Clover 2″ bias tape maker as part of my Valentine’s Day gift (yes, I wanted that as a V Day present lol). To be honest, after one use I felt like a total idiot for not getting one sooner. How anyone can make handmade bias tape without this is beyond me. The Clover bias tape maker is the bomb! The other sizes are now on my gift wish list… maybe there will be room in my Easter basket. TIP: If you have a hard time getting it started with the bias tape maker, cut the top of the fabric into a point so the tip feeds through easier. This is on the package… but if you don’t read directions like me, it can take you longer to figure out than neccessary.
